solicitor who writes to your estranged partner who writes back to his/her
solicitor who writes to your solicitor who writes to you. Do you ever feel
that if only you could talk direct with your ex-partner face to face with
an impartial third party present you could arrive at an agreement without
the long complicated and expensive ritual of solicitors' correspondence? Well,
you can: think MEDIATION!
What
is Mediation?
Mediation is a process that allows both parties to meet with
a mediator who will assist them to arrive at a mutually acceptable arrangement.
Each party has an opportunity of putting forward their point of view in
a non-confrontational atmosphere. The mediator is totally impartial and
is there to assist the parties to arrive at a sensible solution to their
problems that is mutually acceptable to both of them. A mediated agreement
has the advantage that it is arrived at direct between the parties, both
parties therefore know what the eventual agreement/court order will be.
This takes the uncertainty out of the proceedings and avoids the possibility
of expensive court proceedings that may result in an order that neither
party wants! Mediation can be used in all aspects of family law including
finance, property and all applications involving children including residence
and contact.
